Resolutions Committee – Considers and votes whether to forward resolutions to the Executive Committee. The Executive Committee then considers all resolutions sent by the Resolutions Committee and recommends passage or non-passage to the general membership for adoption. Resolutions may be proposed to the Committee by any member of the Arlington Young Democrats. The Party Representative, as elected, serves as the chair of the Committee. Voting members of the Committee include the Committee Chair, one member appointed by the President, the Chair of any Caucus created in accordance with this Constitution and the Bylaws. The Vice President votes when a tie occurs.
Finance Committee – Plans and coordinates fundraising activities and reports such activity to the Executive Committee for approval. The Finance Director, as elected, serves as the chair of the Committee. Voting members of the Committee include the Committee Chair and any other member of the Arlington Young Democrats present at the meeting. The Vice President votes when a tie occurs. Committee POC: Finance Director, Christine Lamb.
Community Service Committee – Plans and coordinates community service activities and reports such activity to the Executive Committee for approval. The Community Service Director, as elected, serves as the chair of the Committee. Voting members of the Committee include the Committee Chair and any other member of the Arlington Young Democrats present at the meeting. The Vice President votes when a tie occurs. Committee POC: Miles Grant, Community Service Director.
Outreach Committee – Plans and coordinates involvement of under-represented people in the Arlington Young Democrats. The Outreach Director, as elected, serves as the chair of the Committee. Voting members of the Committee include the Committee Chair and any other member of the Arlington Young Democrats present at the meeting. The Vice President votes when a tie occurs. Committee POC: Sarah Godlewski, Outreach Director.
Political Action Committee – Plans and coordinates voter registration and assistance with local, state and national political campaigns. The Political Action Director, as elected, serves as the chair of the Committee. Voting members of the Committee include the Committee Chair and any other member of the Arlington Young Democrats present at the meeting. The Vice President votes when a tie occurs. Committee POC: Charles Burnham, Political Action Director.
Special Committees
Membership Committee – Aids the Membership Director and Deputy Membership Director in organizing and sustaining AYD membership. Participates in all other Committees to assist in the planning events. The Membership Director and Deputy Membership Director, as nominated, serve as co-chairs of the Committee. Voting members of the Committee are the chairs and any other Arlington Young Democrat present at the meeting. Communication Committee – Works to assist with the newsletter and website content. The Newsletter Editor, as nominated, serves as chair of the Committee.
