Love dogs? So do we! And we want to help each and every one find a forever home. That’s why we’re teaming up with SPCA NoVA to volunteer at their annual dog wash. The dog wash is a great way to get involved with a local organization, and if you’re like a lot of us, to play with dogs for an afternoon while also making sure they get nice and clean. So come out and join the AYDs for an afternoon of fun and volunteering while helping a great local organization in their mission to find a forever-home for each and every animal. More information about SPCA NoVA can be found at http://spcanova.org/about/index.php
The dog spa is coming up this weekend and we need a bit more info from you if you’re considering volunteering! Please comment below for which time would be easiest for you to volunteer:
Set up (9:30 – 11)
1st washing shift (11 – 2)
2nd washing shift (2 – 4:30)
Take down (4 – 5:30)
It takes lots of volunteers to make this event a success. We
generally schedule two shifts for washing. We wash the dogs in
teams. We need 2 to 3 three-person teams washing each shift. Bring your friends and make your own team! We also need 3 to 4 people to check people in, make sure supplies don’t run out, escort customers to the right place, take pictures.
The Dog Spa is advertised from 11-4 but we’ll need 3-4 people to be there between 9:30 and 10 to help set up. We’ll need some 3-4 folks to help break down after the event is over. People sometimes come at the tail end of the event and we won’t turn them away. We’re sometimes washing dogs past the event close. Second shift may go until after 4.
